About the Watch
The Master Control line from Jaeger-LeCoultre was introduced in 1992 as a tribute to the classic watch design. The line consisted of three main models: a chronograph, a travel time, and a time and date model, all featuring clean and simple lines and high-powered mechanical calibers. The Master Control was also the first watch to undergo Jaeger-LeCoultre's rigorous "1,000 Hours Control" certification process, which tested the watch's temperature, water and shock resistance, and more over a period of six weeks. Each watch that passed received a certificate and emblem on the caseback. The base model of the Master Control was powered by the automatic JLC Cal. 889 movement, which boasted a 28,800 bph rate, 38-hour power reserve, and 36 jewels. This thin automatic movement of exceptional quality was also used by other luxury watch brands such as Audemars Piguet and IWC.
About the Brand
In the heart of the Vallée de Joux in the Swiss Jura, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture is constantly working to develop its creativity and inventiveness - and has been doing so since 1833. Since its foundation, the Maison has created more than 1200 calibres that today enjoy a unique reputation in the watchmaking industry. Its legendary collections, such as the Reverso, which emerged from the Art Deco movement in 1931, the Master, with its classic and refined masculine lines, or even the Atmos, the pendulum clock with an almost eternal movement, are the foundation of the Manufacture's pride and the satisfaction of its loyal customers.
