About the Watch
To celebrate its 175th anniversary, Patek Philippe unveiled a collection of limited-edition timepieces, featuring four distinct models: a grand complication, chronographs, world timepieces, and an hour striker with a jumping hour. These exclusive watches were offered exclusively to their most esteemed clients.
The 5975J-001 Multi-Scale Chronograph features a newly designed 40mm yellow gold case, paying homage to the popular multi-scale chronographs of the 1940s. Its dial is adorned with three distinct graduated scales. A Telemeter, used for calculating distance by measuring the time difference between the speed of light and sound, adorns the outer reaches of the dial. It is followed by a Pulsometer Scale Calibrated for 15 pulsations, enabling physicians to measure a patient's pulse in under a minute. The dial gets completed by a Tachymeter, designed to measure speed over a known distance, a function historically used by fighter pilots. The watch houses an automatic CH 28-520 movement, though it remains hidden beneath a solid case back engraved with the inscription: “Patek Philippe Genève 175e Anniversaire 1839-2014.”
This timepiece's production was limited to only 400 pieces, with this model coming as a full set consisting of a Certificate of Origin and its presentation box.
