About the Watch
Introduced in 1966 and discontinued in 2003, the Blancpain Trilogy series marked the manufacturer's initial endeavor to revive the strong heritage of the 1950s, which had been kick-started by the pioneering professional diving watch, the Fifty Fathoms, and the exceptionally rare Air Command chronograph, following the brand's revival. This series comprised three distinct base models: the Fifty Fathoms, Fifty Fathoms GMT, and the Air Command. Rather than being included in the regular collections, Blancpain categorized the Trilogy series under "Specialties." During its time, the Trilogy series proved highly successful for the brand, as it offered a more sporty aesthetic compared to the 2100/Leman Line. It boasted modest dimensions, providing a substantial presence and weight on the wrist, thanks to its sizable case and bracelet. As a subline within the Trilogy, the 2000 Concept watches were introduced in 1999. These timepieces featured stainless steel and rubber construction for their bracelets, bezels, pushers, and crowns, embodying Jean Claude Biver's inaugural realization of his Fusion concept. The result was widely regarded as one of the most comfortable and wearable timepieces ever created.
