After an 8-week immersion in a chemical black liquid, the onyx plates undergo a vacuum drying process for over a week. These plates, now approximately 4mm thick, are meticulously inspected by pouring water over them. Each plate is chosen based on its ability to internalize infinity. Once the plate's perimeter is defined, it is cut out and shaped by hand on a polishing disc. During this stage, the craftsman opts not to wear gloves to enhance the tactile connection with the material. Subsequently, the onyx discs are forwarded to the mechanical workshop for precise cutting and machining. The thickness is reduced from 4mm to a mere 0.4mm, akin to the sharpness of a knife blade, necessitating exceptionally careful handling. Following this, the dials undergo a thorough hand-cleaning and reevaluation before entering the final polishing stage to achieve a captivating "mirror effect" appearance.
