About the Brand

Desco von Schulthess, a company established in 1889, began producing watches under the Maurice Lacroix brand in 1975. After acquiring Tiara in 1961, Desco von Schulthess focused on producing watches for third-party clients at an assembly facility in Saignelégier, Switzerland. However, due to the rising popularity of Maurice Lacroix, the company ceased third-party production in Saignelégier in 1980 to concentrate solely on the brand. In 1989, Desco von Schulthess acquired Queloz S.A., a casemaker, enabling Maurice Lacroix to commence in-house production of major design components. With its attractive price-to-performance ratio and popular designs, Maurice Lacroix experienced rapid growth in the 1990s, leading to its independence in 2001 with its own workshops. In 2006, the ML106 hand-wound chronograph, the brand's first in-house movement, was launched, solidifying Maurice Lacroix's position as a vertically integrated manufacture. By 2010, the company had a global presence with 220 employees and over 4,000 retail locations across 60 countries.
